Additional Notes
Home Economist, Personal Chef and Culinary Junkie Wendy Perry brings her experiences and passions for marketing, special events planning, agriculture and sustainable farming together in one pasture…
Small Farm Marketing was planted to promote small farmers and farmers’ markets by offering a fresh look with new eyes and marketing plan development:
* to find glitches in current marketing that need fixing and prioritize to get the best “bang for the buck” out of the gate as other pieces of the plan are developed and implemented as budget allows…
* to assess current operations and look for possible ways to streamline procedures and increase productivity for improved profit margins…
* to fetch them higher visibility in their local marketplace(s) with new or tweaked branding and marketing materials… web pages, e-zines, social media presence and other ways as appropriate for each client…
* to develop value-added products for farm/market commodities…
* to create new ideas for “old” products with enhancements such as recipes/cards, demos and tastings… co-marketing with other area farmers… and suggestive selling techniques with fellow vendors at markets…
* to repackage products or redsign/enhance visual merchandising at market booths or retail selling outlets…
* and pull all these things (and more) together in a cohesive way for a well-rounded road map and gas to drive it!
With over 3 decades of a variety of experiences and interesting career journeys filled with delightful characters and a pocket full of resources, Wendy offers a menu of services to create just the right recipe for each of her unique clients! Just like her pots of soup, no two plans are the same. Mosey around her web pages to see how she might be able to stir things up for you or someone you know!

For 20+ years, Wendy was a wedding and event planner in the Triangle market. Deciding to head down other roads, she left those ventures behind. However, she recently has been having inquiries from folks looking for farms for their wedding venue… the *hottest* wedding trend these days! The entrepreneur in her is throwing out seed and now offering Small Farm Weddings, and needs to hear from folks out there with farms conducive to hosting them anywhere in North Carolina. Wendy will provide all the coordination, direction, accoutrement and decor from her years of vintage and rustic collectables… and will serve as liaison between the farmer and bride to handle all necessary details for wedding and related events booked at the farm.
For these weddings and associated food entertainment needs, she will be calling upon area chefs/restaurants/caterers that use local sustainable foods and would like to hear from those folks too, so if you are reading this and know farms or food providers that “fit” this picture and may be interested, please let them know to contact me.
And since there are quite a few companies and corporations that treat their employees to periodic fun staff and family days, she has also created Farm Frolics to accommodate those folks too. Take a look at www.FarmFrolics.com to see her fun creations… including “Cast Iron” Chef Team-Building Competitions using NC made foods and commodities and www.AdoptAFarm.us where she recommends those companies wishing to do community service type projects “adopt a local farm”…since “a farmer’s work is never done!” She will coordinate days with the farm and company for periodic “adoption days” where the employees will come out and help spiff up the farm and do needed chores with the day ending in a local foods picnic with the farmer and his family!
To be added to Small Farm Weddings/Farm Frolics Directory (Farms and Food Providers), please contact Wendy ASAP. At this time, there is no fee for directory listings.
